SHATLER’s Cocktails are ready-to-drink cocktails in a can. We offer fifteen different varieties – ten alcoholic cocktails and five non-alcoholic cocktails. We have a delicious drink for every taste.

Our ten alcoholic ready-to-drink cocktails are Sex On The Beach, Piña Colada, Caipirinha, Long Island Iced Tea, Mojito, Mai Tai, Zombie, Tequila Sunrise, Swimming Pool and Havanna Special, our five non-alcoholic cocktails are Virgin Colada, Virgin Mojito, Wake Up, Havanna Juicer and San Francisco.

Shatler´s Cocktail

Das Testpaket ist wie für mich gemacht. Alles absolute Lieblingscocktails.

Sex on the Beach.

Und natürlich ein tolles Shatlers Cocktail-Glas.

Die Cocktails enthalten eine Menge von 200 ml. Das Glas wird mit 200 gr. Crushed Ice gefüllt. Die Büchse wird gut geschüttelt und sodann über das Crushed Ice gegossen. Das ergibt dann insgesamt 400 ml. Man sollte also ein ausreichend großes Glas dafür nehmen. Die Shatlers Gläser eignen sich hervorragend dazu.

Beide Cocktails waren wirklich äußerst lecker und haben einem Cocktail in der Bar in nichts nachgestanden.

Nun konnte der letzte Cocktail zum Testeinsatz kommen. Sex on the Beach.

Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass die Shatlers Cocktails wirklich die besten fertigen Cocktails sind, die ich jemals probiert habe. Ich finde es praktisch, dass sie schon fertig sind und ich nicht tausend Sachen für verschiedene Cocktails kaufen muss.

Sie schmecken wirklich toll und ich habe natürlich gleich geguckt, wie ich an Nachschub komme.

Ich kann euch noch nicht mal sagen, welcher mir am besten geschmeckt hat. Denn diese 4 Cocktails entsprachen alle meinem Geschmack und alle sind sehr gut.

Probiert sie doch mal selbst aus, ich bin sicher, ihr werdet genauso begeistert sein.

Die Deutsche-Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft hat auch im Jahr 2013 wieder Auszeichnungen an Spirituosen vergeben. Die SHATLER’s Getränke GmbH hat die Sorte Sex on the Beach zur kritischen Experten-Analyse eingereicht und ist einer der großen Gewinner bei der DLG-Prämierung für Spirituosen.

Ausgezeichnet mit dem Goldenen DLG-Preis konnte der SHATLER’s Sex on the Beach die Expertenjury voll und ganz überzeugen.

A short history of the cocktail

Cocktails most likely originated because of the overly bitter liquor that was available at the time. American spirits, almost exclusively different varieties of whiskey, were stiff, high-proof commodities whose straight consumption was not to everyone’s taste.

People attempted to make them more bearable by adding sugar, honey, fruits and other aromatic ingredients. The English term cocktail literally means “rooster tail”. The actual origin of the word can no longer be traced, yet many different stories exist about its emergence: At the end of a cockfight, the owner of the winning rooster had the right to rip out the loser’s tail feathers. Drinking was then done on the cock’s tail, that is, as a toast to the victory. In time the drink consumed after a fight became the cocktail. A further attempt at clarification of the word is not concerned with those drinks that were thoroughly mixed, but rather with those containing spirits of multiple colours layered on top of each other. The profile of such a stratification resembles a colourful rooster tail.

The term may also date back to the Frenchman Antoine Peychaud. Peychaud tested various mixed drinks in New Orleans and allegedly served them in eggcups. The French word for this is coquetier, which over time could have become “cocktail” in the American parlance. Yet another popular story comes from an American bar, where a big, hollow rooster stood. At the end of the day, the bartender dumped all the leftover drinks into the rooster. The resulting, highly alcoholic mix would then be tapped from the rooster’s tail and sold cheap. The news of this procedure quickly got around through word-of-mouth and more and more people started ordering the drink from the cocktail.

Whichever story is true, one thing is certain: Today cocktails are among the most favoured drinks worldwide and have become an integral part of any party.

The mojito recipe originates from Cuba. There are multiple legends surrounding its creation. One story says, that a British pirate named Francis Drake cured his stomach aches with a mix of limes, sugar, sugar cane schnapps and mint already in the 16. century. This forerunner of the mojito was later combined with rum, when the production of rum became more common in the Caribbean. But the summery cocktail, that is so popular today, only became this well known centuries later, through its famous fan Ernest Hemingway. His remark “my mojito en La Bodeguita, my daiquiri in El Floridita” still hangs in La Bodeguita in Havana on the wall.

Tequila Sunrise

The Tequila Sunrise is well known by cocktail lovers. The classic made of tequila, orange juice, lemon and grenadine has a compelling tequila-taste and a special coloring, which – as the name says – resembles a sunrise. The typical spectrum of colors in a Tequila Sunrise is created by the addition of the grenadine. The dark red, alcohol-free pomegranate syrup is added last to the drink and sinks slowly through the glass of the tequila cocktail. The Tequila Sunrise has an alcoholic content of 12,2 % alcohol by volume.

Bartender Gene Sulit creates the Tequila Sunrise for a hotel guest

One of the origin stories told about the drink says, that in the beginning of the 1940s the bartender Gene Sulit at the Arizona Biltmore often created new drinks. He is said to have surprised a regular guest of the hotel with his own creation by mixing a cocktail made of tequila, soda, creme de cassis and fresh lime juice – the Tequila Sunrise cocktail as it is still served at the hotel under the name “the Biltmore Original” today.

From Mexico to the United States and around the globe

A different legend says, that during the time of the prohibition in the US a lot of hollywood actors traveled to the Mexican town Tijuana near the border, where alcohol was not prohibited. One of the most popular hangouts at the time was the race track “Agua Caliente”, which happened to have a very good cocktail bar. At the end of the prohibition, the recipe for the Tequila Sunrise spread to the United States, but in a slightly different form. The Tequila Sunrise today mostly consits of tequila, orange and grenadine.

Apart from the classic Tequila Sunrise recipe there are many different varieties. In one popular and widely used version of the recipe, lemon juice is added to the drink.
