Rainbow: Homemade Margarita Mix
Bright idea: Create a BYOM (build your own margarita) bar for your next party! Our customizable recipe starts with real fruit, like mangoes, strawberries, or honeydew, rather than sugary syrup.
Dark Red: Whiskey Beet Cocktail
Drink your veggies! This rye whiskey drink starts with a super-simple shrub (a syrup of fruit and vinegar) that showcases blended beets, cider vinegar, sage, and maple syrup.
Red: Watermelon Margaritas
This red-hued beauty is like summer in a glass. Frozen watermelon cubes make a fun substitute for regular ice, while a generous helping of tequila and triple sec help get the party started.
Pink: Rosemary-Grapefruit Gin Cocktail
With fresh rosemary and grapefruit juice, this sophisticated spin on gin and juice will become a regular on your refreshment rotation.
Light Pink: Rose Cucumber Cooler
St. Germain elderflower liqueur can salvage a less-than-amazing bottle of wine. Here, a cup of the herbal aperitif elevates this rose wine punch to cocktail party level.
Orange: Rose Collins
Take the classic Tom Collins to delicious new heights with help from a generous splash of rose syrup. (Yes, you read that right.) It adds a light floral flavor to each sip of this sunny vodka and Campari cocktail.
Gold: Turmeric Tonic
Turmeric is having a moment. Stir the trendy health drink ingredient into this warm drink, and add a splash of rum—or bourbon if you're feeling like something even more buzzy.
Yellow: The Porcupine
Pale ale and a bottle of Prosecco mix with tart pineapple juice for an irresistible party offering. The prickly pineapple wedges in each glass give the beer drink its name.
Light Yellow: Lavender Lemonade
After one drink of this summery sip that features a homemade lavender-honey syrup and fresh-from-the-garden lavender sprigs, you'll feel transported to a classy cocktail bar.
Dark Green: Minty Lime Refresher
A splash of green creme de menthe adds plenty of cool flavor to these cute rum cocktails. Their pale green color makes them perfect for an outdoor party or a casual summertime evening cocktail.
Green: DIY Mojito
It's easy being green, especially when you're mixing up a batch of refreshing, minty-lime mojitos. We give you the measurements, and you pick your favorite ingredients, such as different herbs and flavored rums, so each drink is tailor-made to your tastes.
Light Green: Celery Tonic
No need to feel (quite as) guilty about indulging in a gin and tonic when it includes an ounce of fresh celery juice! Finish the drink with a lemon or lime wedge for a picture-perfect cocktail.
Blue: Mad Hatter Potion
Don’t be scared off by the vivid hue! This white wine-base drink is a tropical take on sangria, with blue curacao in addition to brandy.
Tan: Smoked Bacon Rye Sour
Bacon-lovers, rejoice: You can have your bacon and drink it, too. This smoked cocktail boasts bacon-infused rye whiskey—made by mixing the liquor with crumbled bacon—and a splash of pure maple syrup. So go ahead and get your bacon on!
Brown: Toasted S'mores Cocktails
Admit it: You've never stopped loving s'mores. Luckily, you don't have to wait for summer to indulge in the classic campfire treat. These tawny-color cocktails feature sweet chocolate liqueur, marshmallow vodka, and a splash of whipping cream for a grown-up twist on an old favorite.
Light Brown: Mexican Hot Coffee Cocktails
Coffee, coffee liqueur, and your liquor of choice (tequila, rum, and brandy) shine in this warm drink. The Mexican component comes into play with a sprinkle of cinnamon and cayenne pepper.
White: Quick Horchata Cocktail
Cinnamon, rice milk, and rum give this cocktail its warm South-of-the-Border flavors. Rim the glass with raw sugar for an extra sweet touch.
Rainbow: Fruity Ice Cubes
Freeze a batch of fruity cubes to brighten up any rum, tequila, gin, or vodka drink without watering it down.

3 Rainbow Cocktails So You Can Raise A Glass And Toast To Equality This Pride Month
June is Pride Month, and I can think of no better way to celebrate LGBTQ pride than with a few refreshingВ rainbow cocktails. Thanks to the drink mixing prowess of YouTube's Tipsy Bartender, I've compiled three videos instructing you onВ how to create the perfect rainbow cocktail so you can celebrate progress, equality, and pride all month long — layer by colorful, boozy layer.В
And boy has 2015В given us ampleВ reason to celebrate some LGBTQ pride. Let's revisit the highlights, yes? In January, PresidentВ Obama made history as the first president toВ mention transgender people in the State of the Union Address. In early May, Smith College followed several other leading women's colleges by changing their admissions policy to accept applications of transgender people who identify as female. I nВ late May, an overwhelmingВ 62 percent of Irish citizens said "yes" to marriage equality,В makingВ Ireland the first country to legalize same-sex marriage by popular vote. In June,В Caitlyn Jenner's inspiringВ Vanity Fair coverВ received a warm welcome. And, by the end of the month ,В the Supreme Court will decide, once and for all, whether gay marriage will be deemed a constitutional right in the U.S. W hen it comes to the ongoing debate on marriage equality, and heck, the question of human equality, I can't help but invoke some John Oliver spirit as I desperately ask, "HOW IS THIS STILL A THING?"В
In the spirit of love, I just ask one simple thing this Pride Month: Pick a day, any day, to raise a glass full of progress and pride for a much deserved toast to love, equality, and humanity. Because we're all in this together. Now let's go make some drinks.В
Rainbow ShotsВ
- 1 ounce grenadine
- 1 ounce sweet and sour mixВ
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce vodka (I recommendВ MГ©nageВ ГВ Trois Vodka)В
- 1 ounce Blue Curaçao
- Ice
The Stoplight MargaritaВ
- 4 1/2В ounces tequila (I recommendВ Partida Blanco)
- 1 ounce kiwi-strawberry Kool-AidВ
- 1 lime ounce margarita mix

- 2 ounces strawberry margarita mixВ
- Fresh lime wedge to garnish

- 3 tablespoons honey
- 10 ounces soda water
- Blueberries
- Diced cantaloupe
- Diced pineapple

- Diced strawberries

Rainbow Cocktail and Appetizer Recipes – Celebrate with Everything Rainbow!
Posted on June 2, 2016
Themed parties are the best! Nothing makes a party more exciting and interactive than everyone getting together around a theme (well maybe booze is more exciting). Rainbow everything has become a popular trend sweeping parties across the nation. From rainbow cakes to rainbow cocktails, if it can be made in a rainbow scheme, it has been. Check out these rainbow cocktail, shot and appetizer recipes next time you want to throw the most colorful party on the block!
Rainbow Cocktail and Appetizer Recipes That Will Lead Your Party to a Pot o’ Gold!
Let’s start off with a bang, shall we? One of the more impressive bartender tricks is to perform the rainbow of shots! Perfecting this pour may take some practice, but at least you can be your own guinea pig and drink all of the mess-ups. Get this shot rainbow down and you will be dazzling all of your guests!
Jello shots are a party classic. They are easy to make in bulk, can be made in a variety of flavors that will appeal to everybody, and it’s always fun to watch people make out with a plastic shot glass in attempts to release their boozy gelatin treat. These slanted rainbow jello shots are absolutely gorgeous and put a fun twist on the standard jello shot.
Florida Sunrise Cocktail
Every party should have at least one group cocktail available for everyone (besides the keg of Natty Light out back that is). This cocktail is a play on the ever-popular Tequila Sunrise. Ditch your tequila and grab the rum with this fun Florida Sunrise cocktail. You can even top it with a little grenadine to cover the full spectrum of colors!
Now that your guests have ample amounts of booze to drink, perhaps it’s time to supply them with some food so your house doesn’t end up looking like a unicorn ate a laxative. We’ve all had caramel corn and cheesy popcorn before, but what about rainbow popcorn? This unicorn popcorn recipe will help you get your party poppin’!
No good party is complete without some salsa. It doesn’t matter what kind of salsa it is, it just needs to be there to let your guests know, we’re here to party, but definitely make sure you snack! This rainbow salsa recipe is a treat for the eyes and the tummy.
Rainbow Cauliflower Crust Pizza
Yeah, you read that right, this pizza has a cauliflower crust (and if you haven’t tried it before, it is AMAZING)! Not only is this a much healthier pizza alternative, but is fabulous to look at and to scarf down. Check out this rainbow cauliflower crust pizza and your guests will be in awe.
Mini Rainbow Fruit Tacos
Am I the only one that is a sucker for anything miniature? Didn’t think so. These sweet dessert tacos are extremely satisfying and easy to make so you can spend more of your time practicing your rainbow of shots. Get the recipe for these mini rainbow fruit tacos at Sugar Dish Me.
Last, but definitely not least, the “if Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker had a super-baby, it would be me” of appearing to know how to bake well. This gorgeous multi-layered cake may look like it would be so difficult you go Gallagher all over the finished project, but step back from the sledge hammer and grab your forks because this rainbow layer cake is simple to bake.
Ready for some cocktails, appetizers, and desserts that don’t make you taste the rainbow? Come by Howl at the Moon and we’ll make you a bucket of booze with only half of a rainbow in it. Enter below to win a Happy Hour party for you and your friends!

The Double Rainbow Cocktail
July 05, 2010
I decided to create a drink to honor the best video of the weekend, "Yosemitebear Mountain Giant Double Rainbow 1-8-10". (Scroll down to see it if you haven't already.)
It's guaranteed to make you say, "DOUBLE COMPLETE RAINBOW! What does this MEAN?"
by Camper English
1 ounce St. Germain elderflower liqueur
4 or so ounces of soda water
4 dashes of grapefruit bitters (Fee Brothers brand)
lemon peel for garnish
rainbow ice cubes
Make rainbow ice by adding food coloring to an ice cube tray, filling with water and freezing. (For more fun with ice, see the index of all of the ice experiments on Alcademics here.)
C ut lemon peel into stars. Add all ingredients to a glass filled with ice in rainbow order (two cubes per color, making it a double complete rainbow). Garnish with lemon stars.
This cocktail I actually created for a wedding several months back, but thought it would be appropriate here. (It's not so original that I would be surprised if many other people have created this same drink. I just poured it on rainbow ice.)
Note: If you enjoyed this video-inspired cocktail, perhaps you'd also enjoy the Honey Badger Shot.
The video that inspired the drink is after the jump. Double rainbow all the way!

How to Make Rainbow Shots
Introduction: How to Make Rainbow Shots
This is one of the best party tricks I've ever seen. There's nothing like a good magic show and Rainbow Shots definitely deliver - when you pour seven different colored shots out of the same shaker right in front of your guests eyes. A perfect presto.
How it works: The different densities of the four liquids used to make these, allow the separate liquids (i.e.: colors) to stack up in the shaker. As the shots are poured out, slight blending occurs between the layers creating the transitional colors like orange and green.
Note: All the shots will not have equal amounts of alcohol, nor will they all taste equally awesome. (ex: the red will be mostly grenadine. Ew.) This is more meant to be an "oohh, aaaahhh" party moment that comes before the really tasty, if less magical, drinks are served.
And the best thing? With just a little practice they're surprisingly easy to make. So let's go chase that rainbow!
Step 1: Supplies
- metal shaker*
- double jigger
- cocktail strainer
- 7 shot glasses
- big spoon
- unicorn head (optional - but I mean, where do you think rainbows come from? So maybe not optional. )
*I used a glass one to make this Instructable more clear, but to maintain the mystery when doing this in front of others, a non-transparent/steel one is best.
Step 2: The Bottom Layer: Grenadine
Set up your 7 shot glasses in a line in front of you. Place your shaker just in front of the line of glasses and put everything else you'll need within reach.
Measure out 1/2oz. of grenadine and carefully pour it into the bottom of the shaker, being careful not to get it on the sides.
Step 3: Ice Ice Baby
Gently add crushed ice to the shaker until it is 3/4 full.
Step 4: The Middle Layer: Pineapple Juice
Place a big spoon over the ice and SLOWLY pour 6oz. of pineapple juice into the shaker.
Step 5: The Almost Top Layer: Vodka
Leave the big spoon resting atop the ice and pour 1oz. of vodka slowly onto the spoon.
Step 6: The Tip Top Layer: Blue Curacao
IMPORTANT: The blue curaçao is actually the heaviest of all these liquids, so it's very important to start pouring the shots immediately after adding it to the mix.
Slowly add 3/4oz. blue curaçao to the tip of the spoon only.
Step 7: It's Pouring
As soon as the blue curaçao's been added, remove the spoon and place the cocktail strainer into the shaker. Start pouring the shots right away from the side of the shaker your added the blue curaçao to.
I find it helps to count as you pour to try and get the shots even-ish. I counted to four for each pour.
You may have to try 3-4 times to get your pour timing down to avoid having a brown shot instead of yellow. (Especially if you choose to wear the unicorn head while doing it.) But once you get it, you will be able to pull this trick out anytime a party needs a pick-me-up.
Step 8: How to Make Friends and Impress People
Maybe that should have been the title of this 'ible. : )
Have fun with this one you guys!
Nice, but I would never let this be served at the club I managed. The flavor, and color is varied, but so is the alcohol content. No way of telling how much is in each. Controlled portions are one of the best tools you can use for many reasons, including the safety of your patrons.
My first thought was also to add the alcohol to the individual ingredients. However, that would create a lot of extra work. It could also mess with the layering.
My suggestion would be to advertise it as one drink for one person. Seeing as it only has 1.75oz of alcohol all of the shots combined are about as strong, if not weaker, than the average cocktail.
One possible way to remove the alcohol content difference is to mix the vodka with each ingredient separately first. You would need to have a separate set of bottles just for this though, so that there aren't any additional steps needed at runtime.
I alredy saw that on polish chanel "5 sposbow na" :
Ohh I've seen these, I've always wanted to make themmmm! Very nice explanation. Good and clear.Thank you!
Are those drinks too strong?
Amazing! I can't believe you did this in one pour! I feel like we need to have a rainbow party at the Pier!
Tremendress Rainbow Party!
Just with food colouring
I swear I've seen that bartender before, did he work the 3AM shift on the beach in Jamaica?
Seriously that was fun thank you for posting.
I want to try this! Great job!
Amazing, simple and elegance in one! Thanks for sharing.
bet you get a lot of guys that way! ;:^D
Very creative and well executed. I originally thought you would have various food coloring in each shot glass and just pour vodka or gin into them. Back in high school, our neighbor added flavoring as well and called them 'skittle shots'
I LOVE THIS. The Unicorn head is an absolute MUST ;-)
I completely agree. ; )
wrap the pitcher in a towel to make it more mysterious
That would totally work. Or you can use a metal shaker, like the one I used in the first pour, to keep the mystery alive.
Excellent Instructable and video … will definitely give this
one try . Thanks!
some shots won't even have the alcohol
True, but once you're done wowing everyone with your mad magic skills, you can pour the shots back into the shaker, shake it, and re-pour for more even everything distribution.
That is trippy!! And SO fun!
Amazing! Although I am kind of freaked out by the unicorn head.
Do the different layers taste different? Different alcohol content? Which one is the best?!
best 'ible!! love it, now I want to try this at a party! thanks for sharing your magic!
Thanks peppypickle! These are really so much fun to make. I'd love to see your results!
